 "Awesome Stuff" 2008-05-19
By Tom Jackson
I started out using something very close to this, but I think it's essentially the same product. I used the #40 Vinyl & Rubber Protectant , the Intensive Protectant, and now this. All three products perform the same, look the same, and smell the same. Regardless, I've used it on the interior plastic dash trim and door panels in my 2004 350Z. I have a black interior, so I sympathize with the other review of this product, but my experience has been very different. The instructions clearly indicate wiping down excess, which smoothed out the finish for me. It is oily, and it can attract dust, but if you wipe it down with a clean dry cloth once a week, guess what? It will look great! The main reason I score this so highly is that I believe the UV protection these products offer is the real thing. I still get comments on how new my car looks, and any 350Z owner would tell you the interior trim is fairly low quality. Autoweek or Motorweek (I can't remember which) reviewed the Z interior as "cheesy plastic trim", when if first came out. I attribute the fact it is still in such good condition to using a sun shade in the interior and to this product specifically. I lived in Phoenix for the first 4 years I've owned my Z, and the interior still looks pristine. If I can still claim that after the intense Phoenix sun & heat, then I must have done something right. While I admit I have taken meticulous care of my car, and that is likely the #1 reason it's in such good condition, this product helped make it EASY. Thank you, Meguiar's.

"Sometimes, the Old Ways Are Best" 2007-05-08

When I got my new car, I wanted to keep the interior in top shape. Since I had spent the past 11 years keeping my old car's interior in really nice condition with Armor All, I figured that would be OK until the guy at the auto store told me about Meguiar's reputation for being the premium brand in detailing and car care. I spent the extra money on this and used this stuff for a solid year.

The most noticeable attributes of this product are its rich, creamy foam and the powerful cedar scent it gives off when you apply it and for about a week afterwards. I think it makes a good first impression in that it really DOES appear high class and it has a scent that most people might find comforting. However, it soon goes sour. This product is GREASY. The description is completely wrong. This stuff is slippery and very, very, very oily. This is good, since the thick coat of oily product would logically protect longer...however, this oily coating attracts dust and hair and dirt like a superconducting magnet and it's VERY noticeable on black vinyl interiors! It also doesn't seem to want to go on evenly, with blotches and uneven shine on large, flat areas and textured vinyl unless you layer it on thick until it's an oil slick...the entire Mazda3 interior is a finely-textured vinyl and it's a pain to lather the entire interior in this greasy stuff that gives you a headache with the smell. It's also VERY shiny. VERY shiny. But only in the places where you apply a lot of it. Everywhere else, it'll be splotchy or have different reflectiveness. Again, this is magnified on black vinyl.

I'm throwing this out and going back to Armor All.
